Hello, and welcome to Issue 115!
The week has truly ended an era, as Britain’s monarch 👸, Queen Elizabeth II, breathed her last on September 8th. Her long reign had made her a familiar face to generations of people not just in the UK but around the world, and she would be missed by so many.
But as people mourn her death, we hope we can do so without celebrating monarchy, and definitely without celebrating the British version that rests atop a bloody colonial legacy built on loot and plunder.

✊ MADAM PRIME MINISTER: In the United Kingdom, Liz Truss became the Prime Minister after she successfully won an internal election of the ruling Conservative Party. Truss becomes the third woman to hold the position in the country’s history. Truss has appointed a cabinet that includes 10 women among 31 ministers, and for the first time in the UK’s history, without any white man in the top four posts.
