🤮 EVERYDAY MISOGYNY: In Bangladesh, MP Rumeen Farhana was critical of the excessive focus on Padma Bridge - Bangladesh’s longest bridge that has recently been opened - during the recent Budget session of the Parliament. In response to her criticism, Anisul Huq, the country’s Law Minister, thought it best to fall back on some sexism, rather than say something more sensible. #BecauseWhyNot
"Some people are saying that we are talking excessively about the Padma Bridge…So what are we talking about? Shall we talk about her [Farhana's] clothes? I am not going to do that," he remarked, The Business Standard reported.
"A basic logical fallacy of presenting arguments is the ad hominem fallacy which means personal attack,” Farhana did not mince her words in response.
"He has practiced law for the longest time. For someone so honorable to bring up whether my clothes should be the topic of discussion at the Parliament, is something we don't expect,” she added.
